Hot Box Studios in Pretoria is another one of those lovely live music spaces that didn’t last long but will live on forever in the hearts of those that spent any time there.

Founded by brothers Henk and Willem van der Schyf in their grandmother’s old house in Hatfield, Hotbox Studios was a wild party venue that hosted every one of South Africa’s top bands at the time. The boys’ grandmother eventually found out what they had turned her old house into and evicted her own grandsons. Thanks Hotbox for all the fantastic nights.
